Welcome
to the world of Baljees
- A world that epitomizes comfort, opulence
and unstinting luxury.

|
| Welcome
to the world of Baljees, here life becomes a pleasure
in the privacy and comfort. |
Come
up to jolly Shimla
The season's here again
We have ordered out the sun for you
Have driven away the rain,
To see off old man winter
His beard is white with snow
His knapsnack's full of hailstones
It's best for him to go.
The
Mall Road shops are open
And on the balmy air
Is borne the scent of woodland flowers
And voices free from care. |

'Baljee's'
is agleaming
with silver tea pots now.
The pastries served at 'Baljee's'
Will haunt you in you dreams
because they are so wonderful
All chocolatey and cream
on many a breakfast table
There sits a loaf of bread,
It's a 'Baljee's' bread soft and nice
It clears each sleepy head,
It makes you step out faster
It makes you laugh and sing,
"Baljee's is my restaurant
It's almost kith and kin,
It cheers me in dull moments
Brings comfort to my heart
Dear Baljee's is my restaurant
We cannot live apart."
The skating rink
is rumbling
Like thunder from afar
And all the ancient boozers
Are prowling round the bar.
The Lights of Kalibari
Are blinking at the crowd,
The bangle folk are singing
In voices sweet, and loud.
Upon the Ridge there
sits a man
So mournful in the sun,
Right next to him his aged wife
Is having lots of fun
To see their peke barking at
An old man's double chin,
All dotted up with pop-corn
And dosed with lime and gin.
The monkey-folk of jakhu
Have clambered down to see
Such funny people
come to town,
"Oh dear that's you and me
with kiddies on our shoulders,
And star dust in our hair
With leg like sausages in jeans
And couples pair by pair".
So come up to jolly
Shimla
Leave all your cares behind
Just pack a bag or two my pal
come uphill with a smile.
Dr. Hetty, Prem
(Palampur)
